  • Ages: 18+
  • Maximum Passengers: 32
  • Ideal for those looking for: The perfect experience for backpackers looking for more time sailing the Whitsundays.

The Beautiful Whitsundays consists of 74 island wonders. The Gateway to the Whitsundays is Airlie Beach, approximately 750 kilometres south of Cairns on the Tropical Coast of North Queensland.

The two-night Tall Ship sailing of the Whitsunday Islands will be aboard the two-masted square-rigged Tall Ship Solway Lass. Built in 1902, it has an overall length of 127 feet, making it the largest Tall Ship sailing the Whitsunday Islands.

The large decks provide guests with plenty of room to move about, and for those who would like a “hands-on” sailing trip, guests are invited to hoist the sails and take a turn sailing.

Guests can find their own deck space to sunbathe, relax and take in the magnificent views of the Whitsunday Islands. Sail by Whitehaven Beach, Hayman Island, Hook Island, Hill Inlet and Nara Inlet.

During your tour, snorkel the fringing Coral Reefs, which extend right from the islands, swim, bush-walk to scenic lookouts, and visit the magnificent Whitehaven beach.

Set sail to iconic Australian wonders like the Great Barrier Reef, Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet Lookout, and the lively shores of Airlie Beach!

Arrive at Coral Sea Marina by 8:15 am for a headcount, with departure set for 8:30 am. If you’re up for it, you can help raise the sails. Otherwise, relax as we cruise across the Whitsunday Passage to Whitsunday Island, where we’ll anchor at Tongue Bay. Take a guided bush walk to Hill Inlet Lookout for a view of the beautiful swirling sands, then head to Whitehaven Beach. You’ll have a few hours to explore this stunning beach. In the afternoon, we’ll sail north to another island, anchoring just before sunset. After dinner, enjoy a drink and the evening ambience.

Start your day with an early breakfast, then gear up with snorkelling equipment to explore the vibrant marine life around the coral reefs. After your underwater adventure, enjoy morning tea before heading to another spot for swimming, snorkelling, or relaxing on the beach. Next, cruise to Langford Island and take a short walk to the lookout for a panoramic view of Hayman Island. Visit the Sandspit and watch for turtles, fish, and rays in the shallow waters. Cap off the day by enjoying the sunset over the water.

Start your day with a refreshing swim and snorkelling session before we make our way to Nara Inlet to see the Ngaro Rock Art. Afterwards, have some fun with a rope swing. Spend some leisurely time on deck as we sail back to Airlie Beach.
